What’s Your Number?
As a patient at Crowne Chiropractic Clinic, you have access to state of the art technology in the Subluxation Station. This will help to determine the health of your spine and nervous system.
With this technology, the results of five objective tests are combined to give you a NSFI (NeuroSpinal Functional Index) which helps us to understand the true health of your spine and nervous system.
The five tests include:
Surface EMG – Helps to determine how well the muscles that support your spine are functioning by aiding in discovering patterns and regions of tension and stress that are abnormal. All muscles are controlled by nerves and this test helps discover the pattern through which energy is distributed to your spinal muscles. By precisely measuring the activity of your muscle, your improvement can be tracked as your treatment plan progresses.
Thermal Scan – Used used to assess the autonomic nervous system. This is the part of your nervous system that is in control of the things you don’t have to think about, like digestion and the circulatory system. Proper function of those things controlled by the autonomic nervous system is necessary for life, health and healing. Temperature differences along your spine are precisely measured with this instrument and give us a “snapshot” of how these things are working and how this portion of your nervous system is responding to treatment.
Pulse Wave Profiler – Helps to determine your ability to adapt to changes in your environment. This is done by measuring your pulse and the balance and tone of your nervous system. When your nervous system is working properly it is evidence of an increased ability to adapt, as well as an overall sign of good health. Poor heart rate variability is a sign of aging and overall poor heart health. Published research shows evidence that chiropractic adjustments can benefit heart rate variability.
Range of Motion – Helps to identify areas of restricted motion and altered spinal biomechanics. Your findings can be compared with normal values. Obviously, restricted motion to one side more than the other is a sign of a problem.
Algometry (Pain Mapping) – Quantifies sensitivity to pressure in the spinal region. Measurements are in pounds per square inch and help to map any patterns of pain.
All of these tests are essential in helping us determine the severity of your problem and the best part is they don’t involve any pain! Give our Arlington chiropractic office a call to schedule an appointment today!
